The Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions”, LACCEI, is a non-profit organization conformed currently by 220 institutions, mainly in the Americas, that offer programs in Engineering, Technology or Education.
By joining the ENTER Network, LACCEI, will participate in the global discussion on the improvement of the engineering educator profession, contributing to the analysis of the required future competences for the engineer educators, by supporting the LACCEI members on the development of their professional development programs and promoting international recognition of their engineering educators.
LACCEI will also ensure the spread of the international engineering educators register to the developing countries in the region, that normally lack the support for the engineering educator’s personal development.
All of this is aligned with the mission of LACCEI that is to facilitate and promote global collaborations in the advancement and continuous improvement of engineering and technology education, practice, research, and innovation linking Latin America and the Caribbean to the rest of the world.
The goals and objectives of LACCEI include: Faculty and student exchange; New and/or higher level academic program ; Dual/joint degree and certificate programs; Distance, continuing and e-education ; Laboratory development and sharing of resources; Curriculum development, course equivalency and accreditation support; Faculty development including higher degrees; Industry internship, cooperative programs and career development; Joint training and research programs, and solicitation of funds; Development, commercialization and transfer of technology; Dissemination of scholarly achievements and other accomplishments by member institutions.
Being the institutional member of the ENTER Network provides LACCEI with the right to appoint its representative in the ENTER Network Academic Committee and participate in all its activities.
