PORTFOLIO TEMPLATE

The main aim of Portfolio is to collect the evidence of your pedagogical experience to be provided as supporting document together with the application form.

The documents included in the portfolio do not need to be translated if they are available in the following languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Mandarin and Cantonese, Kazakh

All documents should be uploaded as ONE PDF file. 

Scan copies of the following formal documents are required to be included in the portfolio to evidence your educational background and current professional position:

  •  Higher Education degree(s) diploma(s)
  •  Any additional postgraduate diploma (s)
  •  Proof of employment (document confirming your employment including a current position in the indicated organization)

Please provide evidence demonstrating your competencies in the following domains:

A. Pedagogical competences (14)

1.        Innovation in Scientific and Mathematical Pedagogy

Description: Designs and applies innovative, research-informed approaches to teaching natural sciences, mathematics and statistics, including active learning, inquiry, modelling and data-focused methods.

2.        Time Management

Description: Manages time efficiently across lectures, tutorials, labs, problem sessions, fieldwork and assessment, ensuring adequate practice and feedback opportunities.

3.        Effective Interaction

Description: Communicates concepts clearly, checks understanding regularly and responds flexibly to student questions and difficulties.

4.        Reinforcing Interactivity in Teaching–Learning

Description: Uses interactive techniques (e.g. clicker questions, guided problem-solving, small-group tasks) to engage students actively in sense-making.

5.        Conceptual and Systemic Analysis in Science and Mathematics Education

Description: Helps students connect concepts across topics and scales (e.g. micro–macro, local–global), and understand the structure of scientific and mathematical theories.

6.        Pedagogical Psychology and Communication

Description: Applies knowledge about learning, cognition, misconceptions and motivation to support diverse learners and combat math/science anxiety.

7.        Stakeholder Interaction with Research and Professional Communities

Description: Engages with research institutes, laboratories, professional societies, industry and public bodies to enrich teaching with current scientific and quantitative practice.

8.        Sustainable Development and Scientific Responsibility

Description: Integrates topics such as environmental change, resource use, risk, uncertainty and ethical use of scientific and statistical evidence into teaching.

9.        Digital Education, Modelling and Data Tools

Description: Uses digital tools (e.g. simulation software, CAS, statistical packages, programming environments, virtual labs) in ways that deepen conceptual understanding and modelling skills.

10.        Problem/Project/Practice-Based Learning in Scientific and Quantitative Contexts

Description: Designs and supervises problems and projects that require students to formulate questions, model phenomena, design experiments, analyse data and communicate results.

11.        Learning Outcomes Assessment

Description: Develops assessments that validly measure conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, modelling, data analysis, experimental skills and scientific reasoning.

12.        Curriculum Design

Description: Contributes to curriculum design and review, ensuring coherent progression from foundational to advanced concepts and integration of theory, experiment and computation.

Description: Manages courses, labs, field activities, equipment and digital resources efficiently and safely, respecting regulations and institutional procedures.

22.        Leadership and Team Coordination

Description: Leads and coordinates teams of educators, researchers, technical staff and sometimes students in labs, field campaigns, observatories or data centres.23.        23.        Motivation and Student Engagement

Description: Uses strategies to build student interest and persistence in demanding quantitative and conceptual work, supporting them through difficulties and setbacks.

24.        Institutional and Societal Engagement

Description: Engages with institutional bodies, schools, science centres, policy actors and the public to promote scientific and quantitative literacy.

25.        Professional Motivation and Commitment

Description: Demonstrates commitment to the profession of natural sciences, mathematics and statistics education, actively seeking opportunities to improve teaching, share practice and mentor colleagues.

Examples of evidence that could be provided:

  • Certificates of trainings and professional development programs you successfully passed within the last 5 years (if there are too many upload 10 most relevant)
  • Certificates confirming your participation in the relevant events within the last 5 years (if there are too many upload 10 most relevant)
  • Certificates or other type of documents confirming your membership in professional associations, networks, societies
  • Evidence of relevant awards, scholarships, honorary titles, etc.
  • Evidence of application of certain methodologies, approaches, tools in your teahcing practice (digital tools, PBL, Education for Sustainable Development, etc.): extracts from your teaching materials, course syllabus and other.
