New milestone: Engineering Educators from 30 different countries in the ENTER Register

15/06/2022

Thanks to the continuous growth of interest in many countries from several continents, the ENTER register has reached this month a new milestone: 30 countries with engineering educators registered.

The result achieved after only 6 months of active operation of this international professional register is outstanding, in particular, due to the thoroughness of its requirements and the mandatory peer review by three international experts (preferably from a different continent) of each portfolio.

In fact, this is also the reason why, while the register has thousands of engineering educators’ requests, and hundreds of portfolios review ongoing, only less than hundred have so far reached the final stage of their review.

The referred thoroughness of the register process is fundamental to achieve the main goal of the register that is to support the career development of the engineering educators, ensure their international recognition with suggestions for their continuous professional improvement.

The work of the reviewers is of paramount importance since they have to analyze the career of the applicant based on the provided evidence and suggest further development of the educators’ competences. The ongoing increase of the number of Monitoring Committee Members, that perform these reviews, will hopefully help solve the existing delay in the review.

So, this milestone is above all a commendation for the voluntary expert work performed by all the Monitoring Committee members.
