International Seminar on Competency Certification for Engineering Educators of China

23/01/2026

Following consultation and with the support of the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association (CEEAA), ENTER held the International Seminar on Competency Certification for Engineering Educators of China.

As part of the pilot Chinese policymaking project this event aimed to advance systematic implementation of iPEERs in the Chinese universities, strengthen international exchanges and professional competence in engineering education.

Spreading iPEER in a global context is significant because it creates a shared, credible benchmark for what it means to be a competent engineering educator—across institutions, countries, and education systems. By aligning professional recognition with transparent, evidence-based standards, iPEER helps elevate teaching excellence to the same level of international visibility as research and accreditation, supports mobility and mutual trust between universities, and strengthens the status of engineering educators as a globally recognized profession with clearly demonstrated competencies.
