Kick-Off meeting marks the launch of EDUFUSION NSG: building the way for sustainable growth in Kazakhstan

28/01/2025

On 15-17th January 2025, the Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ CBHE Project "Edu-Fusion Network for Sustainable Growth-EDUFUSION NSG" was held at Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal.

The Project aims to create an ecosystem involving tight links between industry and academia, training and certification of educators, and providing online courses relevant to market needs to ensure sustainable growth and entrepreneurship at Kazakhstan's national level.

Edu-Fusion Network for Sustainable Growth is an integrated approach designed to transform higher education in Kazakhstan, focusing on aligning educational outcomes with labor market demands and promoting sustainable growth and job creation.

The main outputs of the EduFusion NSG will be:

·       Academia-Industry Collaboration Portal (AICP), which will provide a bridge for partnerships between educational institutions and the business sector.

·       Teacher Development and Support System (TDSS), which will offer accredited training for educators, focusing on modern teaching methodologies and addressing educational disparities.

·       Virtual STEAM & Entrepreneurship Academy (VSEA), which will be created to offer accredited online courses in STEAM and entrepreneurship, emphasizing gender inclusiveness and climate neutrality.

The Kick-Off meeting of the project commenced with a welcome part from the project coordinator João Rocha from ISEP, who also introduced all the participants. José Carlos Quadrado from ENTER presented EDUFUSION overall and specific objective, milestones, work packages and deliverables. Furthermore, each partner delivered a presentation about their universities, with a special focus on engineering education and the practices conducted in this field.  Next, each work package was presented in detail by the respective work package leaders, who outlined the key activities, objectives, and outcomes of their specific tasks within the project.

ENTER is responsible for WP6 – EduFusion NSG Growth and Outreach. Kseniya Zaitseva took the lead in presenting the guidelines for this work package, highlighting its objectives and strategic initiatives. She introduced the project's logo and shared insights into the development of the official website, which will serve as a central hub for all project related activities.

On the second day, discussions focused on financial management of the project. Additionally, nominations for project committee members were discussed and agreed, along with an outline of the project's next steps, goals, and commitments. In the afternoon, João Rocha and his colleagues organized a guided visit to ISEP.

The final days were reserved for bilateral meetings between the project coordinator and partner representatives, providing an opportunity to address any remaining questions and concerns.

ENTER is proud to be an active partner in this project, supported by Erasmus+ programme and co-funded by the European Union. Together with all members and support of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we remain committed to enhance the competitiveness of Kazakhstani universities by aligning higher education outcomes with labor market demands.
