Ecuadorian Engineering Educators Earn Prestigious iPEER Title

10/02/2025

A new milestone in engineering education has been achieved in Ecuador as a group of distinguished engineering educators have successfully obtained the International Professional Engineering Educator Registry (iPEER) title. After a rigorous international peer review, educators from Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN), Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo (ESPOCH), Universidad Nacional de Loja (UniLoja), Universidad Estatal de Milagro (UNEMI), and Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) were awarded their iPEER certificates.

The official award ceremonies held at their respective institutions recognized these educators’ commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and engineering education innovation. By attaining this globally recognized credential, they have confirmed their status as professional engineering educators at the international level, reinforcing Ecuador’s standing in the global academic community.

iPEER, the only professional regulating body for Engineering Educators under ISCO classification 2311 (recognized by the UN/ILO), ensures that its title holders meet the highest scientific, pedagogical, and professional standards. The recognition of educators from Ecuador further strengthens the country’s role in fostering high-quality engineering education aligned with global best practices.

Congratulations to all the new iPEER-certified educators! Their achievement sets a benchmark for academic excellence and inspires further advancements in Ecuador’s engineering education sector.
